B is for Better Off Ted

If I’d wanted to do a theme for the A-Z challenge, it easily could have been “TV shows I made a habit of watching live and that ended after two seasons or less.”

To name a few:

Better Off Ted
Dollhouse
Firefly
V
The Zeta Project

Better Off Ted aired for two seasons then was canceled in May of 2010. Unlike everything else on my list, this was actually really funny and I think anyone who likes the Office could easily fall in love with it. In case you’re wondering what you missed, here’s a three minute trailer and a 1 minute trailer below it if you've got a shorter attention span. : )

Three minute trailer.

 One minute trailer.

I’m almost afraid to admit I like Big Bang Theory, because then some TV executive somewhere is going to replace it for another staged “reality” TV show or more reruns of 90’s TV programming.

If you’ve had a show cancelled on you, let me know what it is and why you miss it!

  2. Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles is one I think of of the top of my head. I get mad when shows have a fan base and it's ignored by the company like "Chuck"...

Bring it... to the challenge "B" is for Brilliant!

  5. Dollhouse and Firefly - Whah! I still miss those shwos. Tragic that Firefly never got more than a few measly eps and a movie.

    Great post!

  6. Classic Star Trek. Yes, I'm that ancient. It came out when we were living in the Philippines, and the Navy got show a season behind. I was thrilled to see them new. Well, we got back and they canceled the show after that half season we were home. And this before syndication. It was several years before we got to watch any reruns.

  8. The show that I loved was Kidnapped with Timothy Hutton. It was totally addictive, story line was interesting, and the acting was top-notch. I don't know why it was cancelled. But Netflix does have the whole first season, which tells the entire story of a single kidnapping.

  12. Firefly :( I'm still sad about that. I would have liked to see Dollhouse receive more of a chance, too. I'm looking forward to Cabin in the Woods, though: Joss Whedon produced it, and apparently it's got his smarts all over it.

  13. I liked "Pushing Up Daisies" a few years ago (maybe more than a few) and "Community" altho that show as a concept had really run its course.

  17. Greetings! Although I've never seen Better Off Ted, I so know what you mean. It happens quite often to me too that I get into a show only to have it cancelled! Argh! Good luck this April!

  18. I must admit, I've never seen any of those shows. I guess I'm not a big TV watcher. I got hooked on Lost and now I make it a point to watch Once Upon a Time on Sunday nights. Other than that, I catch the news. Thanks for stopping by.
